Gentle Touch has many cats which are un-adoptable and are considered resident cats. These cats are happy and content living here at Gentle Touch. Sponsors are needed to help cover the cost of rent, litter, food, and yearly medical expenses. We are looking for kind hearted people to help sponsor their residency to ensure that their lives here at Gentle Touch may continue to be a safe and happy place for them and that they will never have to worry about leaving the only place they know as "Home".
Gemma and Wynne are siblings that came into the Sanctuary 12/06. They came from the Princeton area and were living outside in a rural farm area. They were lovingly cared for by a woman who would go and feed them daily and make sure they had a warm place to stay in. They were extremely scared and feral when they arrived. They have since warmed up to us here at the Sanctuary and feel comfortable in their surroundings but do not like to be picked up so have become permanent residents here at the Sanctuary.

Terry came into the Sanctuary 2/05. He was extremely feral upon arrival. He has 2 extra toes on all four paws and is absolutely beautiful. He developed an autoimmune disease in his mouth and had to have all his teeth removed. He has adapted to the sanctuary and feels safe here along with his many other unadoptable friends. He does not like to be picked up but will allow us to touch and pet him and roams around the facility and knows that this is his home.

Dryud arrived at Gentle Touch in 8/08. She came in at about 8 weeks of age with some siblings. The litter of kittens were feral and we were able to tame down all of them but Dryud whom remained standoffish and untrusting. She roams free here amongst her new found friends but does not like to be approached by people. She tolerates us and does feel safe here and is considered one of our permanent residents.

Star has been a resident since 3/06. We actually did not see much of Star for a whole year. He spent most of his time under the couch while we were here and came out only at night. He has made some new friends here amongst what we called the “Couch Club”. He now interacts with his friends and allows us to look at him but we are not allowed to “touch”. He is happy and content and finally feels safe enough to lounge around with all the other residents.

Josie has been with us since 7/08. She was rescued from PUPS in Maple Grove. She was very very scared when she arrived and never really recovered from her shyness. She spends her days amongst her new friends and does roam the facility as she pleases but does not like to be approached or touched.

Celeste came to us from Hillcrest Animal Hospital. She was extremely scared and unsure of herself when she arrived. It took her a long time to adjust to her new surroundings and has come a long long way since her arrival in 2/09. She hid under the couch for a few months before she felt comfortable enough to feel out her new surroundings. She allows us to touch and pet her but will not allow us to pick her up. She has many new friends here that she enjoys hanging out with and is considered a GTAS resident cat.

Buffy is a beautiful boy!!!! He arrived at GTAS in 1/09. He was scared and unsure of his new surroundings but eventually came around and enjoys spending time with his new friends. He looks after some of the other cats and likes to look over them cleaning them and playing with them. He will on occasion come up to us when we are working on the computer and let us pet him but we are not allowed to “pick” him up.
