Hi! My name is Pellet

I am a sweet little boy that was just in the wrong place at the wrong time!!!!! I don’t know why my humans let me outside. I really didn’t want to go out into that cold outside air and I really wanted to be let back inside. Unfortunately I got to walking the streets checking out this new outside place – having fun chasing things and running after these huge moving things and ended up getting hit by one. Before I knew what hit me I was being thrown across the street and just started rolling and rolling and rolling. I really hurt by the time I stopped moving and I was having a hard time moving one of my back legs. I tried to get up and find my way home but I just couldn’t do with it!!!!!

A strange human found me and brought me to this building where lots and lots of animals lived. Some of them weren’t too happy and some were even scared. They all told me they didn’t belong there and they just wanted to go back home to their own houses. Every day people would come into the building and walk around and look at all the animals. My new friends and I waited and waited hoping that one day our human would come in and take us home. Some of my friends left thankfully with their humans – others left with people they didn’t know and others went into a room and never came out!!!!!

A very nice lady they called Dr. Larry came to see me. She talked to me and checked me over from head to tail and told some other people that I had broken my hip and that there was something wrong with my tail!!!!! Something about it dying and falling off – possibly having to cut it off! What did this mean???????????

I got up and put some weight on my back legs showing her that I was fine – I could move – and tried to show her also that my tail was just fine!!!!!!!!! Every few days Dr. Larry came in to check on me.. She talked to me and made me feel better when she said that it looked like I was going to be fine with just a little recovery time.

One day she came and told me she was going to take me out of this strange building and take me to a Sanctuary. A Sanctuary !!!! What was that!!!! I had really liked Dr. Larry and now she was going to take me to a Sanctuary!!!!!!!! I really got scared that maybe I was going to go into that room and never be seen again!!

I really shouldn’t have got myself all worked up like that because before I knew it – I was traveling in one of those huge moving things that hurt me and it was much nicer being on the inside of one of those things than under it.

After just a short time a lady named Sandee came to get me from Dr. Larry’s office and brought me over to the Sanctuary. This Sanctuary wasn’t so bad. It had lots and lots of cats that lived there. It looked just like a house and they were walking around all over the place!!!! Sandee put me into a really large cage and some of the other cats came over to meet me and visit with me. Sandee told me that when my hip had healed a little more I could come out and play with my new friends.

My hip is healing and I walk just a little gingerly on it and all my new human friends at the Sanctuary are keeping an eye on my tail. They say it is a little curved but I am so glad that it hasn’t fallen off. I think I am going to be fine from what I overheard from the humans. I am out of the cage now and am making all kinds of new friends!!!!!! Suzanne makes sure that we all get our share of the canned food and she gives us all lots and lots of love and attention. She is a super nice lady and I hope that some day I will go home with someone as nice as her!!!!!! They say I am a very very sweet boy. I love curling up next to people and I like getting all this attention here at the Sanctuary but from what I understand we don’t get to live here forever. Nice people come in to visit and some of my new friends leave. Sandee tells me that that is a good thing!!!!! Shes tell me that someday I will find a new human that will take me home and will never never never never let me outside. I sure hope so because I’m not so sure I like that outside world.
